haha, okay, I'll tell you what I thought about this movie were... But it was GREAT, trust me!

Disclaimer, i'm not what I call a perfect critic, so ya don't need to bother telling me if my review sucks.  if you rather, see Spill.com's review
___________________________________________________________
For an Adam Sandler Movie, this one is a completely unconventional Sandler productions, which is a good thing.  Instead of being stuck sitting through watching a bunch of Saturday Night Live sketches by Sandler, James, Buscemi, and Spade,  We actually get original ideas, jokes and character-charismatic moments.  and besides those guys, we get a lot of talent from a large cast of celebrities, from Selena Gomez, Fran Drescher, Cee Lo Green, Jon Lovitz- eh, just go to IMDB and you'll get them all.  I give it a lot on Voice and Talent.  I wish this hotel was a real place (if it isn't), I'd totally go there and pretend to be a monster to sneak in.

Anyway, more things I like about this movie

The animation was brilliant and clever.  Gave that appeal of traditional animation, such as squash and stretch, and great timing and spacing. This animation almost looked like a traditional animation put into CG animation.  Every character has a beautiful line put to them; by that I mean the shapes are whimsical  and intended.  If you want a better example on what I mean, just look at the profiles, the silhouettes (or outline) of each character, everything was thought through and placed.

Also something that needs to be mentioned is this movie, if you hear me here, has a lot of artistic influence and intention; I mean every scene was perfectly set up to have you look around.  And while some animations out there have character designs that are basic or uninteresting due to unfocused, every character has a great design.  I give this feature huge points on Art and Animation

as story goes, it was taking a daddy and his princess story put into a monster/macabre setting and theme.  And besides making it just a story about the Dad being over protective of his daughter, the story focuses on getting rid of the human (along with keeping the daughter away and vise-versa), while juggling with hosting for his guests and friends.  A Plus I also give this movie for is fitting so much story and material into an hour and thirty minutes.  I mean this is a simple enough story, but it gets so more interesting the further you get through it; builds in, calms down and brings in some more, does it enough that you're entertained all through.

there was only one thing I wished this movie didn't do, but I don't think it matters too much.  Though I should say what it is since I mentioned it, it was brief moments of auto-tuned pop songs.  there are only a few of them and they're not all over this movie, and it isn't about them being bad, it's actually te fact that this movie could have almost been a Timeless Halloween movie; a movie people would watch again in the future and think, "yeah that's cool", especially around Halloween.  Usually with modern themes, elements, and especially songs, kids down the line are going to watch this and say stuff like how weird our time was or "that's old stuff".But I really don't mind it at all to be honest, live in the present.

The Characters-  leading the role in this movie is Dracula.  Who's goal was to do everything he can to protect his only daughter, Mavis, from the harm of Humans.  By doing so he built his "Hotel Transylvania", so she can be protected his daughter while providing a refuge for all his friends and other monsters by making it a place where no human can reach it; a Resort for monsters.  But of course all this leads to the point where keeping his daughter locked up led to the point where she wants to get out.  And also this plan of his bites him (seriously) in the butt when a BackPacker pops up at his hotel, Dracula's Daughter falls in love with him (not knowing he's a human) and refuses to leave.

Which reminds me, You will love the Jonathan Character.  Some people will say he's annoying, but it never bothered nor occured to me; the only way I see him as "annoying" is to Dracula.  What we love and what you'll love is how sympathetic we can be to the guy- a 21-year-old dude backpacking around Europe, exploring the world, "rolling with it".  Also, expect a lot of pop-cultural references with Jonathan; he has a lot of them.  Some of them I didn't know or get, but some of them I really got; especially one of them made me pull out my rock horns and shout "Woo-HOO!"

(sketch drawing prize for the first one to guess which reference it was, but then you really shouldn't because that can ruin a bit in the movie for anyone reading the comments)

Great Character award !  I would love to mention more of the characters, especially Mavis, but I could make a mistake of spoiling the movie (and I think I did all I safely could)

Anyway, my overall Verdict is 5/5 stars!
great animation, kept it- no, went beyond to be entertaining for kids and adults, nothing stupid or too stupid to make it a little-kids movie, brought back the old monsters we all love and recognize, Visually stunning, and a great performance from Adam Sandler and his friends.

I wish it could make it to being timeless, but it's best in the present, and it probably won't be for a while until this one gets old

Again, If you want a better review if you hated mine, then I recommend Spill.com's full audio review
